"Endangered species and Native land seems like a slam dunk for preservation. "
There are many reasons Roger and I decided on Huntington Beach to call our home. We actually didn't discover and then fully appreciate the wetlands until weeks before the mesa was fenced off and ultimately be developed into a bunch of homes.
We loved taking our first "kids" (Chili and Cooder) on walks around our little bit of "wilderness". I know it will never be the same as it was but we do still appreciate exploring the outskirts and can already feel the stress levels rise with the options to explore and enjoy nature slowly disappear.
So, I'm hoping to do what little I can to help keep the little last bit of our wetlands from being developed by sending this to all my HB friends and families. Imagine, if every resident gave just $5, we would easily raise the funds necessary to save this little bit of refuge to detox from the daily grind.

The Ridge & Goodell parcels are the last pieces of Bolsa Chica threatened with development. As development in Huntington Beach gets denser, our open spaces become more precious. This is a rare opportunity to save this land from development and create a beautiful park overlooking Bolsa Chica for all to enjoy. If this acquisition effort fails, up to 36 townhomes may be built on the site adding further development density to our community. The loss of more of the sacred lands of our local Native American communities will further erode their ability to celebrate their culture and heritage.
Join me in supporting real change. Let's support good in the world and make a difference. With your help, I know we can reach our campaign goal by 2018-01-01, we can ensure 11 acres of upland habitat will be restored to include native grassland prairie and coastal wildflowers which will provide much needed foraging and nesting areas for our wildlife such as the endangered White-tailed Kite, Burrowing Owl and Southern Tarplant. This Native American sacred site will be saved, and a cultural gathering place created so that descendants may celebrate their culture and connect with their ancestors. The beautiful view over Bolsa Chica will be open for all to enjoy as the community visits this peaceful park to relax and bird watch. Your support will assist us in saving the last pieces of Bolsa Chica for our community, for today, and for the generations to come.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for the Bolsa Chica Land Trust! Each dollar will go towards the acquisition and restoration of the Ridge and Goodell properties.
