The Ridge & Goodell parcels are the last privately-held pieces of Bolsa Chica still threatened with development. We have a rare opportunity to preserve this open space and create a beautiful park for all to enjoy, overlooking the state lands known as the Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve in Huntington Beach. If our acquisition effort fails, it is likely a town-home complex of up to 36 units will be built on the site, increasing the human impact on the wildlife and the surrounding area. Additionally, we will lose yet more of the lands held sacred by our local, Native American communities which will further erode their ability to celebrate their culture and heritage in the places of their ancestors.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for the Bolsa Chica Land Trust! You can easily donate as little as $5.00. Each dollar you give will go 100% towards the acquisition, restoration, and maintenance of the Ridge & Goodell properties.
Please join me in supporting real change. With your help, I know we can reach our campaign goal by January 1st, 2018.
We can ensure that 11 acres of upland habitat will be restored to include native grassland prairie and coastal wildflowers which will provide much needed foraging and nesting areas for our wildlife such as the endangered White-tailed Kite and Burrowing Owl, as well as land where the endangered Southern Tarplant might flourish.
With this sacred Native American site saved, a cultural gathering place can be created so that descendants may celebrate their culture and connect with their ancestors. The beautiful view over Bolsa Chica to the ocean from this peaceful park will be open for all to enjoy as the community visits to relax and bird watch. Your support will assist us in saving the last parcels of Bolsa Chica from development forever. Thank you in advance!
